I'm so excited! There are simply too few boxes in my area! So, I'm
asking for some advice. I have the stamp carved, the ink pad, the
journal, and a pen. I also have the "About Letterboxing" flyer that
was shown one the letterboxing webpage.
What else should I include in my box? I've seen items such as "first
finder certificates". What do people think of those?
Is there a standard letter that people include that says ...
If you found this box by accident ... yadda yadda ....
How do folks "label" their boxes? The box I found just had heavy
marker on the outside of the box. Is this typical?

Please, always include your state's 2 letter code in the "Subject" box so we know where you are.

I'm just curious why it matters what state she is from if she is just
asking general questions as to what she should include in her box?
Do people in different areas include different items?
I would think that including a state in the subject of a general
question may limit the number of people who would read the post and
potentially be able to provide answers, as they would surmise the
message was specific to the poster's state and skip over it.
Just my 2 cents...

If you would like to hear from people who find your box (folks don't
always report finds here), you could include your email address or
stamped postcards. But either is totally optional.
I include my email address and occasionally get a note when a box is
found -- love that!
As for labeling the box - sometimes I remember to put "this is not
trash" in permanent marker on it --- sometimes I forget!
